Dr. Hesse provided a keynote to teachers in K-12 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Rockville, MD. He shared his personal story navigating the MCPS system as a first-generation, low-income Latino student.
After the Supreme Court ruled that colleges cannot use race in admissions, we have seen an uptick on diversity essays. We will monitor underrepresented student enrollments as new data comes out in 2024.

Admissions Gambit Cofounders’ alma mater is the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). The Diamondback, UMCP’s official newspaper, published an op-ed written by Dr. Hesse advocating for financial aid for undocumented students in the state of Maryland.
After the 2016 presidential election, Dr. Hesse moderated a “Race in America” forum on Latino identity with experts from education, medicine, business, and journalism.
